Blogger Who Leaked GNR Album Pleads Guilty

Kevin Cogill may have thought he was providing a service when he leaked tracks from the then-unreleased Chinese Democracy, the new Guns N' Roses album. Cogill is now prepared to plead guilty to the charge of federal copyright infringement on December 8, according to an announcement by assistant U.S. attorney Craig Missikan.

Cogill leaked tracks from the new Guns N' Roses album back in June on his blog, Antiquiet.com. When he received legal demands to remove the music, he did. But the RIAA wanted more, and they went to the FBI, securing an arrest warrant for Cogill on August 27.

Chinese Democracy is set to be released on November 23, and as of now, no one knows who Cogill's source for the music was, although Cogill is rumored to be a former employee of Geffen Records.
