Beyonce baby watch is over. The 30-year-old singer gave birth to a daughter on Saturday at New York’s Lennox Hill Hospital with her husband, sister and parents by her side. The proud parents named their newborn baby girl Blue Ivy Carter, a name that has gotten mixed reactions from fans.

While celebrities have always been known for thinking outside the box when it comes to naming their children, like Gwyneth Paltrow and her daughter Apple, Jason Lee naming his son Pilot Inspektor, and Jermaine Jackson naming his son Jermajesty, to name a few, many fans and media outlets are trying to figure out what’s in a name when it comes to Beyonce and Jay-Z’s Blue Ivy. Reportedly there is a lot.

The rapper, whose real name is Shawn Carter, once rapped about naming his daughter Brookyln Carter, but Blue holds a special meaning as his most successful albums are his Blueprint albums, according to Rapfix.

"Blueprint was the hottest album ever sold by Jay-Z! their child's name makes a lot of sense!" Tweeted @kisssmyDIAMONDS, a fan of the couple.

Blue is also Jay-Z’s favorite color.

“My favorite hue is Jay-Z Blue” he rapped on Young Jeezy’s “Go Crazy,” where according to the website, he also tried to make “Jay-Z Blue” his own color.

When it comes to the baby’s middle name, many believe it represents Beyonce’s love of the number four, since IV is its roman numeral.

"We all have special numbers in our lives, and four is that for me," Beyonce said while she promoted her album 4 which was also her fourth album. "It's the day I was born. My mother's birthday and a lot of my friends' birthdays are on the fourth; April 4 is my wedding date."

Jay-Z's birthday is also on Dec. 4. The couple also has matching IV tattoos on their wedding fingers.

According to People the hip-hop power couple gave a clue about the name over the holidays by sending out blue Christmas gifts to friends.

Whether Beyonce or Jay-Z ever explain their child’s name or not is to be seen, but for now friends are just happy over the news of the baby, tweeting their messages of congratulations.

"Welcome to the world princess Carter! Love Aunty Rih,” wrote Rihanna on Saturday.

"Welcome to the world, Blue," close friend Gwyneth Paltrow tweeted Sunday. "We love you already."

Beyonce’s sister Solange also tweeted that her new niece is the “most beautiful girl in the world."
