Rapper Jay-Z's upcoming album, "The Blueprint 3," has undergone a change in its release date. Originally slated for release on Sep. 11, the album will now be released on Sep. 8. Sep. 11, 2001 was the date on which the original "Blueprint" was released, and so the release of the latest album was planned to honor the breakthrough album. Jay-Z's representatives have not made a public statement about the change in release dates, but it is extremely like that the rapper decided against releasing the new album on Sep. 11 out of honor for the now sensitive date on the American calendar. It has also been theorized that the rapper wished to move the date up before the pirated version of the album, which leaked recently, becomes too widespread.
The change in dates was made relatively quietly. Jay-Z did not even address the move himself, instead leaving it to Amazon.com, Rhapsody.com, and WEA's distribution site to break the news for him, according to Billboard.com.
