Bob Dylan stood tall to define and shape the nature of the music industry as he proudly received a Pulitzer Prize at this year's New York ceremony, Los Angeles Times reports.
The master of rock is said to have received the award in the most humble of manners and with tremendous honor as he couldn't believe this happened to him of all people.
Dylan's award was based on "his profound impact on popular music and American culture, marked by lyrical compositions of extraordinary poetic power," explains NME.com.
His receiving of the award stands as a victory for the music genre of rock n roll as it's the first time a Pulitzer Prize has ever been given to a rock musician.
