Bon Jovi to Perform Concert for Lung Cancer Research
Humanitarian rockers, Bon Jovi, will lend their aid in efforts to help raise funds for lung cancer research.
Reuters reports that the band will perform the first of a year long series of concerts, for an organization called "Stand Up For A Cure 2008 Concert Series." The Bon Jovi performance, which will take place on February 12, 2008, will be in honor of Richie Sambora's deceased father who succumbed to lung cancer in 2007. The New York Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where care was given for Sambora's father, will be the recipient of funds raised by the concert series.
Jerry Seinfeld, Brian Wilson, Andrea Bocelli, and Brian Wilson, are currently some of the other entertainers named to take part in other various concerts to help raise awareness for lung cancer research.
Bon Jovi's concert will take place at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom.
