Brad Garrett Not Being Pressed with Charges
The next time Brad Garrett gets angry, he should just walk away. The Associated Press reports that no charges are being filed on the actor who was caught on tape pushing a paparazzo with a video camera. The video also shows Garrett challenging the man to a fight. Prosecutors say that Garrett, 48, was provoked into getting into the scuffle.
Gossip Web site TMZ.com posted the video on their site last month. The paparazzo involved in the argument said that Garrett broke his camera. He said that he then held it up and acted like he was still shooting.
Garrett, the former star of Everybody Loves Raymond and Til Death, was not arrested at the time of the incident, which took place outside of a restaurant in West Hollywood.
On Friday, a charge evaluation report released by the Los Angeles County district attorney's office claimed that the cameraman used "hostile and derogatory language" to get Garrett angry.
Garrett's contact with the paparazzo was minimal and "the interests of justice" don't support pushing a misdemeanor battery charge on the actor, the report stated.
