Brad Pitt and Soderbergh Team Up Again
Brad Pitt and director Steven Soderbergh are joining forces once again for an upcoming movie.
According to E! News, the director is in talks to join Pitt, who previously worked with Soderbergh on the film Ocean's 11, on the film Moneyball. The movie, in which Pitt headlines, will be a sports film based on the real-life Oakland Athletics' general manager, who used a computer program to create a playoff-level team.
Pitt joined the cast last fall, but Soderbergh has only recently begun talks to direct the film as its original director, David Frankel, quit.
Moneyball is an adaptation of Michael Lewis' bestselling novel, Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game. The novel chronicled Oakland A's general manager Billy Beane's success using a computer program to recruit new players. With the help of the program, Beane created a team that, despite his minimal payroll, became a contender for the World Series.
