Hangover star Bradley Cooper, 36, was named People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive 2011, the magazine announced Wednesday.
Cooper told the magazine that it is great to see that a guy “who doesn't look like a model can have this [title]," according to USA Today. "I think I'm a decent-looking guy. Sometimes I can look great, and other times I look horrifying,” he added.
In the interview, he also told People that the fist thing he thought of when he got the news was his mother, Gloria. The "first thing I thought...was, 'My mother is going to be so happy,’” he said.
His status remains single, although he dated Renée Zellweger for two years and has been lately linked to Jennifer Lopez, according to MSNBC.
Cooper joins a list that includes names like Johnny Depp, Jude Law, George Clooney and Matt Damon, who have all won the title in recent years. 2010’s Sexiest Man Alive was Ryan Reynolds.
In 2011, Cooper starred in Limitless with Robert De Niro and The Hangover Part II. He is currently working on a film adaptation of Paradise Lost.
