Brand and Spears reunite... through telepathy?

MTV uses Britney Spears in another VMA promo this year.

Russell Brand's hunt to bag Britney Spears in MTV's VMA promos continues in 2009. This time, the commercial showcases a lesser known talent possessed by the comedian and pop star: their telepathic skills. In this year's commercial, Spears wistfully contemplates, poolside, whether Brand will invite her "personally" to the VMAs. Brand then hears these thoughts and attempts desperately to project his wishes for her to make her way over to his hotel room.

Audiences and viewers of the VMAs can expect tons of comedy in 2009 as Brand will be hosting the ever-popular MTV event for the second year in a row. No news yet if an appearance by Spears will be made at this year's VMAs but the awards show is scheduled to air on Sept. 13, as reported on AHN.

With all this chemistry between the two, two years running, one has to wonder if there's ever any spark existing off-camera.
