Break the Ice, or Bread with Britney

For the price of $6.25 million you could have the privilege, or perhaps the burden of calling Britney Spears "neighbor."

Need to borrow a cup of sugar, an egg, or possibly a new hairstyle for the day? Why don't you ask your new neighbor, Britney Spears. Yes, for the price of $6.25 million you could have the privilege, or perhaps the burden of calling Britney Spears "neighbor."

As reported by the Associated Press, reports indicate that Ed McMahon, the former Star Search host, is facing the possible foreclosure of "The Summit," his six-bedroom mansion overlooking Mulholland Drive.

According to a default notice filed by Countrywide Financial Corporation with the Los Angeles County Recorder's Office on February 28, the Wall Street Journal reported the television personality was $644,000 behind on payments on $4.8 million in mortgage loans.

McMahon's spokesperson, Howard Bragman, notes the pitchman for American Family Publishers' sweepstakes has been unable to work for the past 18 months due to a sustained neck injury. Perhaps his current status of unemployment now qualifies him to enter the Publishers' sweepstakes; given the state of his financial affairs, it appears the prize money would be most beneficial.

While Bragman states McMahon has engaged in discussions with the financial lender, the situation has yet to be resolved.

As the Beverly Hills mansion has been on the market for two years, it appears that no one is willing, or perhaps brave enough, to call the pop-princess "neighbor."
