Breaking Dawn to Proceed with Filming

The fourth movie in the "Twilight" franchise got the go-ahead to start production in 2010.

According to MTV News, Breaking Dawn, the fourth film in the "Twilight" series of films, has gotten approval from Summit Entertainment.

The second film of the series, New Moon, is presently shooting in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

TheWrap.com stated that the film is set to begin filming in spring 2010. No spokesperson from Summit was available for comment.

Actress and director Drew Barrymore confirmed she will not be directing Eclipse, the third film in the franchise. Director Chris Weitz has replaced Catherine Hardwick as director of New Moon. Rumors are also circulating that Juan Antonio Bayona will direct Eclipse.

Twilight was released last November and was a quick success at the box office. Due to the first film's success, New Moon was endorsed and is set to make it's premiere on November 20, 2009, and Eclipse should arrive at theaters in June 2010. Breaking Dawn would be slated for release later in 2010.

Last week, the remainder of the New Moon cast was revealed, including new stars Dakota Fanning and Michael Sheen as members of the "legendary Volturi, a venerable coven of vampires who weigh and impose the laws of the vampire world."
