Bret Michaels Encounters Set Piece Mishap at Tony's

Bret Michael's routinely squares against the number one threat to a rock star's wellbeing--the belligerent, disease-spreading groupies, contestants of his VH1 reality show "Rock of Love." But at this year's Tony Awards, he was forced to go toe-to-toe, or rather, face to face, with the second biggest threat—falling stage pieces.

Bret Michaels with his heavy metal, hair spray fueled band Poison, was the opening act for this year's Tony's, and featured myriad performances from the Broadway musicals of this seasons past.

After rousing the crowd with his feel-good ballad, "Nothing But a Good Time", Michaels was exiting the stage when a piece of the set came undone and descended onto Michaels. The Associated Press reports that the set piece knocked Michaels to the ground but did not cause any serious damage. Tony Spokeswoman, Christinia Stejskal stated the malfunctioning set piece "missed the mark." And although it appeared as if Michaels might have suffered a broken nose, appearances were deceiving. The extent of his injuries is currently unknown
