Bret Michaels Hit With Moving Scenery at Tony Awards

While performing at the Tony Awards Sunday night, Bret Michaels took a blow to the face by a piece of scenery being lowered from the ceiling.

This is why you should always follow your stage cues.

At the Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on Sunday night, musician and reality TV star Bret Michaels reportedly "missed his mark on stage," according to Entertainment Weekly, and was hit in the face with a lowering piece of scenery. He was performing "Nothin' But a Good Time" with his former 80s hair metal band, Poison, as well as the cast of Broadway's "The Rock of Ages," when he was knocked to the ground by the blow.

The Associated Press reports that Michaels had to get X-rays taken after the incident and had to receive a CAT scan as a precaution, as he has previously suffered a neck injury.

Initial reports on the extent of Michaels's injuries are still unclear. The AP says that he suffered a nose fracture and had to get three stitches in his lip, but the Los Angeles Times maintains that despite such reports, he did not actually break his nose, while making no mention of the lip injury.
