After undergoing surgery to repair a hole in his heart, Bret Michaels experienced an immense drop in blood pressure, People reports. Dehydration and exhaustion caused the singer and reality TV star’s blood pressure to plummet four days after enduring surgery to repair a hole in his heart.
Fortunately, Michaels’s doctor located the cause, possibly a result of the 47-year-old’s diabetes, and the singer is recovering at his Arizona home. "Bret suffered no setbacks and is fine. It's always good for patients to be evaluated when they're not feeling well," says interventional cardiologist Dr. Mansour Assar.
The hole in Michaels’s heart was found last May after he experienced a mini-stroke.
Michaels’s rep says the Pennsylvania native is looking forward to getting back to work, adding that he will also be rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday during the Super Bowl.
