Brett Ratner will be sending Kites' soaring
"Rush Hour" trilogy director Brett Ratner is re-editing an English-language version of Rakesh Roshan's and Reliance BIG Pictures film entitled "Kites."
"Kites" will be released internationally in English as well as in Hindi, but in India, it will be shown only in Hindi.
According to an article on HollywoodReporter.com, "'Kites' is a love story shot in Las Vegas, Mumbai, New Mexico and Los Angeles with music composed by Rajesh Roshan.'"
The motion picture will be helmed by Anurag Basu and will star Hrithik Roshan and Bárbara Mori. Ratner's previous credits include directing the 2006 hit "X-Men: The Last Stand" and the 2002 Anthony Hopkins/Edward Norton thriller "Red Dragon."
Roshan began his acting career as a child in the highly successful 2000 musical romantic action film "Kaho Naa... Pyaar H," which in English translates to "Say This is Love." The role was Roshan's film debut and earned him Filmfare Awards for Best Actor and Best Male Debut. In 2008, Roshan won his first international award at the Golden Minbar International Film Festival in Kazan, Russsia for his performance in the musical romantic action motion picture "Jodhaa-Akbar."
As for Mori, she is a Mexican actress and model who made her acting debut in the Mexican telenovela "Al norte del corazón." She won her first TVyNovelas Award for Best New Actress for her performance in the Mexican comedy series "Mirada de mujer." Yet, Mori's big break came in 2004 when she played the title character in the remake of the telenovela entitled "Rubí" for the largest Mexican multimedia conglomerate in the Spanish-speaking world, Televisa.
