Bristol Palin's Ex-Fiance Admits He's Not Mature Enough for Relationship

The 19-year-old speaks out about his failed relationship with Governor Palin's eldest daughter.

Levi Johnston, former fiance of Bristol Palin, has spoken out regarding the couple's recent split, according to the Associated Press.

Johnston, 19, told ABC's Good Morning America that he and the eldest daughter of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin broke up "a week, two weeks ago," following a fight. Johnston explained that the couple had been "trying to see if we can make things work. But this is what it kind of ended up turning into. But we'll see what happens."

The teenager did not rule out the possibility of reconciliation somewhere down the line, but conceded that it was a case of "me not being mature enough, or something, and having a kid and thinking . . . it could be better . . . for us to separate for a while."

Johnston and Palin share an infant son, Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston, who was born last December. Johnston said he sees his son regularly despite the breakup, and went on to describe how fatherhood had changed his life. "I'd give anything for (Tripp), to be with him," he said. "(There are) a lot of changes when you're a father, when you hold him for the first time, you know. I don't do a lot of things I used to anymore, I'll tell you that."
