Britney and Kevin Cause 'Chaos' Tonight
UPN, the now relatively Un-Popular Network, will sure have a status-bump-up to the Ultimate Popular Network when the new reality show featuring Mr. and Mrs. Federline, "Britney and Kevin: Chaotic: Can You Handle My Truth," airs tonight. "UPN doesn't have the cachet MTV does, (but) it will create new buzz for the network," said TV Guide columnist Mike Ausiello. Although Britney's little bump will not star in the show, the series will feature the couple's never-seen-before private home videos. In a 6-episode span, we will witness everything from Britney and Kevin's whirlwind romance, to their battles, and intense devotion throughout their courtship, engagement, and wedding. "It's kind of interesting to see how we fell in love, got in fights, everything," Britney said. Many are questioning Britney's motives for doing a reality show. Spears "obviously wants to build the Britney brand," said Joe Borgenicht, producer and co-author of The Reality TV Handbook. "She's stuck in this no-man's land between being really successful too young and trying to redefine herself like Madonna." If you ask the 23-year old star, she sees her new show as therapy. "So much happened last year much too fast, and I really wanted to take advantage of this opportunity to reflect on all of it. It's like my own therapy," she wrote on her website on May 4. When ordinary people are madly in love, they often feel like sharing their joy with the entire world. When you're Britney Spears and madly in love, you literally can.
