Britney Being Sued by Her Former Manager

Spears is being sued by Sam Lutfi for libel, defamation and battery.

According to a report in the New York Daily News, Sam Lutfi, Britney Spears's former manager, has brought suit against the pop star and her parents, Jamie and Lynne, alleging libel, defamation and battery.

In the suit, Lutfi claims that Spears was fearful of her father, and didn't get along with her mother. "Resentful of Lynne and afraid of Jamie's controlling, violent and often unpredictable behavior, Britney began inquiring about obtaining restraining orders against Jamie and Lynne," the lawsuit reads.

The allegations of defamation and libel all originate from Lynne's new book, Through the Storm, claiming that since the book's publication, Lutfi has faced "unfathomable accounts of ridicule and public scorn."

However, there is more to this story than first meets the eye. Lutfi has debt collectors seeking him. Lutfi had a lien placed on his condominium in April, according to TMZ.com. He never paid for the domicile and owed $18,507.58 in November. Also a bank that issued Lutfi a Discover card, filed suit against him in the amount of $7,966.88.

This suit comes on the heels of Spears securing a restraining order against Lutfi, barring him from contact with her, her parents, and her kids. The order was secured less than a week ago.
