Britney Gives "Idol" $25K

Britney Spears was so touched by "Idol Gives Back," the she gave 25K of her own money to the charity.

Allegedly Britney Spears was so inspired by the Idol Gives Back special that aired Wednesday night that she decided to donate $25,000 to the charity.

According to Hollyscoop.com, while watching the show, the singer was especially shocked to hear about all the children who succumb to malaria every year. After a little research about the disease, Spears insisted that she do her part to help.

A family insider told Life & Style, "She did it all on her own. She watched the show and cried for like two hours over the children in Africa with malaria. She didn't know much about the disease, so she Googled it. She was horrified to realize kids were dying from mosquito bites. So she went online and donated after getting [her dad] Jamie's permission. She used her Amex."

"Idol Gives Back," now an annual event, has raised over $100 million dollars since its inception.
