Britney Spears Attacked...On Twitter

The pop-star's account made to look like devil-worship.

If you follow @BritneySpears on Twitter, you may have gotten some pretty disturbing tweets lately.

"I give myself to Lucifer every day for it to arrive as quickly as possible. Glory to Satan!

"i hope that the new world order will arrive as soon as possible! -Britney"

We all know that Britney Spears has been taking some heat for lip-synching in Australia, but to resort to Devil-worshipping?? That's a little steep. Even for head-shaving Spears.

Rest assured, though, because it appears that Ms. Spears has simply been a victim of good-ole hacking. Someone thought it would create a stir to log-in to her account, change the background wallpaper to Illuminati, and then tweet about her love for Satan.

Well, they were right. Shortly after, the hashtag #DontHackBritneySpears became a trending topic on the social network.

The tweets and wallpaper were quickly taken down.

As should be expected when you mix celebrities with the Internet, this is not the first time famous accounts have been hacked on Twitter. In fact, this is the second attack on @BritneySpears. In June, a tweet claimed that the pop star had died.

All that can be said is: wow, people really do hate lip-synchers.
