Britney Spears Goes from "3" to 1

Spears single "3" debuts at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100

Britney Spears at The Teen Choice Awards 2009 in Universal City

This week Spears song "3" about threesomes will debut at number one on the Billboard's Hot 100. "3" will be the pop singers first number one single since "Baby One More Time" and more recently "Womanizer".

Spears will have the first song to debut at number one since Taylor Hicks' "American Idol" victory song called "Did I Make You Proud". It was placed on the chart July 1, 2006. Another first for Britney is her song being not related to "American Idol".

Lauryn Hill's "Doo Wop (That Thing)" in 1998 was the last non-"idol" song to appear at No.1.

The single moved 225,000 downloads in its first week of release, moving it to No.1 on Digital Songs.

"3" is only the 15th song in the Billboard's Hot 100 history to debut at No.1.

The song "3" is the only new song to appear on Spears upcoming album "The Singles Collection" due for release Nov 24.
