Britney Spears Is Ready for Her Comeback

Her new tour is scheduled to kick off this week.

People.com reported that Britney Spears, pop-diva and drama-magnet, is ready to take control of her career again. Spears will perform the first show of her "Circus" tour at the New Orleans Arena on March 3, complete with a three-ring stage and magic tricks.

Many believe this tour, and particularly the first show, is a make-or-break performance for the 27-year-old Spears. People called it her biggest performance since her "disastrous, out-of-shape"performance at the 2007 MTV Music Awards. Gary Bongiovanni, editor-in-chief of Pollstar Magazine, agrees: "I've got to believe she's ready and will do a professional show. If she doesn't, it's over."

Those close to Britney feel that she's ready. Her father, Jamie, testified on Monday that prior to his intervention, her "life was pretty much a disaster. She had nothing going on, just mostly [being] in the tabloids. [But now] weight-wise she's eating properly, she's very stable, making her meetings and taking care of her babies, doing the things she's supposed to do." On Wednesday, Jamie was granted an extension on a restraining order against ex-manager Sam Lutfi.

Former husband Kevin Federline plans to take their kids on the road so Spears can see them regularly while on tour. A source close to Spears said, "Having the boys with her is going to make all the difference. They are the reason she can do this."

Ticket sales have been strong so far with a few shows already sold-out. Said Bongiovanni, "Obviously, it means there is significant fan interest in seeing her do her live show. That fact that she's been off the scene for a while helps with the pent-up demand."
