Britney Spears Set to Star in Tonight's "HIMYM"
Britney Spears is set to appear in tonight's How I Met Your Mother, sans the paparazzi, British accent and outbursts. Well, maybe not the outbursts.
Spears will guest star on the critically acclaimed show as a love struck receptionist, which is set to air at 8:30 ET/PT on CBS Monday night.
The pop star is said to be a big fan of HIMYM, and learned of the show's casting earlier this month.
"I thought I was hallucinating when I got the call," says executive producer Carter Bays in an interview with USA Today. "Our intention was to give a funny little part to an up-and-coming actress. Instead, we got the most downloaded person in the world."
The cast, according to HIMYM actor Josh Radnor, attempted to provide "a nice safe place" for Spears, who seems to have been lacking just that in the months leading up to her second hospitalization.
Spears spent two days filming on the HIMYM set, where her character, Abby, is transformed from "prim mouse to sexpot," according to USA Today.
"It's a cute, funny role, and she ended up being great in it," Radnor says. "She's actually very vulnerable and sweet."
