Britney Spears Will Not Perform at VMAs

This according to Us Magazine.

Britney Spears, one year removed from her trainwreck performance at MTV's Video Music Awards in Las Vegas, will reportedly not return to the network's biggest stage.

The news comes via an interview that Ryan Seacrest did with Spears's manager, Larry Rudolph.

"Britney Spears will not be performing at the VMAs this year. I'm telling you officially and unequivocally," Seacrest said, quoting Rudolph.

This is because Spears "is in the middle of recording her next album, which is going amazingly well, and was never supposed to perform at that show."

All prelimary reports from Rudolph, and the producers working with Spears say that she has been extremely professional and the sessions are amazing.

Spears said a week ago that her new material is darker - and better - than anything she's done in the past.

The (formerly?) troubled 26-year-old is nominated for three VMAs, and there has not yet been an announcement about whether she will appear at the VMAs.
