Britney's Enraged Attack on Photographers
Britney Spear's father broke his silence in a television interview with Fox News on Thursday. "We're just trying to take care of her," Jamie Spears, 54, said. He pleaded for the media to "leave our sick little girl alone." Britney, 25, is now in rehab for the second time at Promises Treatment Center in Malibu, California. She also had an earlier 24-hour stay in a different rehab facility last week.
In his Thursday interview with Fox, Jamie Spears also said the rumors Britney was battling drug or alcohol addiction were false. He claimed her problems are "not about what other people think," and that both he and Spears' mother were "concerned about our daughter."
Britney is getting support from her manager as well. "She is in rehab," Britney's manager, Larry Rudoph, confirmed to Extra on Friday. "And it is very disappointing that various media outlets are running these false stories about her as Britney tries to get better." Rudolph denied rumors that Britney tried to commit suicide, saying that it's "absolutely untrue."
The recent bizarre behavior of the former pop princess has been documented along the way-from her extreme partying, to shaving her head, to an enraged attack on a photographer's car on Thursday.
Footage of Thursday's incident shows Spears attacking a photographer's car with a large umbrella and shouting profanities. She climbed out of her car at a traffic light and unleashed her rage on photographers, who have followed her every move.
The latest fiasco certainly won't help Britney win the custody battle for her two children with ex-husband Kevin Federline. Spears reportedly needs to complete about thirty days in rehab or else Federline will get an emergency court order granting him permanent custody of their sons.
