Britney's Ex Accused of Assault
According to the New York Daily News, Adnan Ghalib, an ex-boyfriend of Britney Spears, has been charged with multiple counts of felony assault relating to a hit-and-run he was involved in last month.
The three charges leveled by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office against Ghalib, 36, include assault with a deadly weapon, battery, and hit-and-run.
Ghalib is well known as a paparazzo and as a former beau of Spears's. The two began dating in 2007, and broke up in 2008 after Spears accused Ghalib of philandering behavior.
The incident the charges stem from took place on Feb. 11, when Ghalib was being served with a temporary restraining order filed by Spears's father. Ghalib allegedly drove his vehicle at the server, who was then thrown from the hood of the car. The victim sustained several injuries, the most serious being a broken wrist. Ghalib then allegedly left the scene without stopping.
The District Attorney has requested bail to be set at $110,000. A conviction could mean a maximum of seven years in prison for Ghalib.
