Brittany Murphy Died from Drug Intoxication, Pneumonia, Anemia

Brittany Murphy died from multiple problems, reports the coroner. The late actress was found to have had multiple drugs in her body at the time of her death and also suffered from iron deficiency anemia.

Her husband, Simon Monjack, and mother, Sharon, denied rumors that Murphy had died from illegal drug use and eating disorders. She had apparently suffered from a heart murmur as a teenager, but that the condition had already been treated. In the days before her death, they say that she had been suffering from laryngitis and flu-like symptoms.

Simon confirms that Murphy had been taking the painkiller Vicoprofen and the anti-depressant Fluoxetine, but that the other medications found by investigators were his, given to him due to a seizure he had recently suffered.

A full report on her autopsy will be released in two weeks.
