Brittany Murphy's Death Surrounded by Mystery

109 Vicodin pills unaccounted for.

TMZ reported that actress Brittany Murphy obtained a prescription for hydrocodone, also known as Vicodin, 11 days before her death.
Murphy's perscription was for 120 pills and the day she died a mere 11 pills were left in the bottle.

The L.A. County Coroner's Office has been unable to locate the doctor who prescribed the pills, but are actively searching for him.
According to the coroner's report the pills, which were prescribed specifically to the actress, were supposed to be taken a maximum of four times a day. Which means that 44 pills should have been missing, instead of the 109 that were missing at her time of death.

The coroner wants to locate the doctor to find out why the pills were prescribed to Murphy. The name of the doctor is Cohen, but Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack was unable to assist the coroner in locating the doctor.

The cause of death is listed as accidental, the result of a pneumonia, along with prescription and over-the-counter drugs.
