Brittany Murphy's Hollywood Hills Mansion Is Being Auctioned Off

Her mother, Sharon Murphy, decided to move away from the sad memories in the house.

The Toronto Sun reports that the Hollywood Hills home where Brittany Murphy, her husband and her mother all lived is being put up on auction. Unfortunately, it is also where the Clueless star and her husband, Simon Monjack, tragically died.

Murphy died in December 2009 after suffering a cardiac arrest at the age of 32. Her mother, Sharon, then put the house up for sale in March 2010 but took it off the market only a month later.

Then in May, Monjack passed away. The Toronto Sun points out that both husband and wife died of pneumonia combined with anemia, which prompted rumors that the couple’s home contained deposits of toxic mold.

Now, Sharon has decided to move and the house is set to be auctioned off at a courthouse in Pomona, California.

TMZ reports that court documents show $4 million is still owed on the house. Last year, the asking price was $7.25 million.
