Brittany Murphy's Husband Says Drug Use Rumors Untrue

For the first time to date, Brittany Murphy's husband has spoken out against the rumors that his wife abused drugs. According to Globally.com, a British news site, Simon Monjack said that his wife never used drugs recreationally; legal or otherwise. It has been widely speculated, but not confirmed or backed up with any real evidence, that Brittany Murphy was abusing drugs before her tragic death last month.

Rumor mills ran rampant, saying she did a large quantity of cocaine before entering the shower and suffering a lethal heart attack. Those spreading the rumors used her quick weight loss and strange behavior on set to back up their claim. Her director and screenwriter husband, Simon Monjack, still insists that his wife never did illegal drugs and that she was very anti-drug to begin with.

Monjack initially refused an autopsy, which also fed the drug use rumor. The autopsy was later allowed, and the results of the procedure said she died of natural causes. Monjack said he initially refused the procedure because he didn't want her body to be cut up in that fashion. He said she had literally held her in his arms as they tried to resuscitate her, and therefore the experience was very fresh in his head.
