Brittany Snow Defends "Hairspray" Lead in Time of Arrest

The arrest of Nikki Blonsky, known for her lead role in the film, Hairspray, has people talking, with most of them expressing surprise that such an incident could even occur.

One individual in particular who expressed shock at the event was her film costar, Brittany Snow, who, according to People.com, spoke of her friendship with the actress and said, "I would never expect that type of controversy to surround her."

However, while she was surprised at Blonsky's arrest, that same surprise was not reflected when she spoke of the entertainment industry's tendency to "misconstrue certain things." In speaking to People.com, she added that the situation would work out for the best, since Blonsky is "a good person, and good things happen to good people."

Blonsky, along with her father, Carl, were arrested after a fight occurred with the family of Bianca Golden, a participator on America's Next Top Model.

It took place in the departure lounge of the Providenciales International Airport in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Along with Blonsky's family, Golden was also arrested and charged with assault. Snow also mentioned that Zac Efron, who also starred in the film, spoke with Blonsky during the situation.

Along with Snow, Blonsky's fans also hope that she survives this situation unscathed; the world of entertainment is rough enough, and scars should only be received from critics, not one another.
