Brooke Shields Angry
According to the New York Daily News, Brooke Shields is accusing a reporter and photographer of taking her mother, who suffers from dementia, out of her New Jersey nursing home in order to get a story.
The actress claims that the pair works for tabloid giant The National Enquirer. Although Teri Shields, 75, was found unharmed chatting to the reporter at the restaurant next door to the nursing home, Shields says that she will be taking legal action.
The duo got to Shields's mother by claiming to be friends of the actress. The police interviewed both the reporter and the photographer, but no charges have been filed and the Shields family has yet to file a criminal complaint, according to People.
"I intend to take every lawful action against all who were involved or who authorized this despicable act," Shields said. "
The idea that the National Enquirer took advantage of her state is reprehensible and disgusting."
In a statement released by The National Enquirer, the reporter is a freelancer who is a longtime friend of Teri.
"The police talked to the freelancer, Teri, and the senior center, and decided no wrongdoing whatsoever had occurred," said the statement.
