Brooke Shields is Back

John Winn
Returns to the big screen after decade-long hiatus.

The "Blue Lagoon" girl is back.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Shields has signed on with Summit and Participant Media to film the family drama "Furry Vengeance."

Shields will play Tami Sanders, the wife of a real-estate developer, played by Brendan Fraser, who finds himself up against an army of raccoons when he decides to raze a virgin forest.

Roger Kimble, of "Cruel Intentions" fame, will direct the feature.

The film marks the first time that Shields has appeared on camera—in a movie anyway—since 1999, when she appeared in a string of films including the Chris O'Donnel film "The Bachelor" and the indie film "Black and White" with Ben Stiller and rapper Ghostface Killah.

In 2008, she appeared on the short-lived show "Lipstick Jungle," a toned down version of Candace Bushnell's "Sex and the City" on NBC. The show was canceled after one season.

She joins Dick Van Dyke, "The Hangover" actor Ben Jeong and actress Samantha Bee of "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart."
