Bruce Springsteen to Be Final Performance at Giants Stadium
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will play three last shows before Giants Stadium in New Jersey is torn down. Springsteen broke the news to fans at a concert on May 21 at the Izod Theater in Rutherford, New Jersey. Show dates are tentatively scheduled for Sept. 30, Oct. 2, and Oct. 3.
According to Rolling Stone, Springsteen and the E Street Band will be the final musical performance that Giants Stadium will host.
Springsteen's North American tour will be brought to a close on Saturday at the Izod Center, but will be back in the U.S. in June to play in the Bonnaroo festival in Manchester, Tennessee, according to Reuters. A European tour will also begin within the following week.
Springsteen was heard playing a number of old time favorites at the concert where he made the announcement, including "Rosalita," "I'm Going Down," and "I'm Growing Up," reported Reuters.
Giants Stadium will be raised in 2010.
