This year’s Grammy Awards ceremony will feature a wide range of musical talent, with Rihanna, Adele and Katy Perry already signed up to perform. On Thursday, the Recording Academy announced that Bruce Springsteen has joined the list of performers.
In the announcement, the Boss, who has already won 20 Grammy awards in his lengthy career, will perform with the E Street Band. The Academy also announced a list of presenters, including The Roots’ Amir "?uestlove" Thompson, Fergie, Jack Black and Ringo Starr.
According to The Wrap, Springsteen and the E Street Band join Adele, Perry, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, Paul McCartney, Coldplay, Bruno Mars, Kelly Clarkson, Foo Fighters, Jason Aldean, Glen Campbell and Bruno Mars as performers.
Springsteen’s appearance will come just weeks before the March release of his new album Wrecking Ball, notes the New York Times. Springsteen also announced that he and the E Street Band will go on a nationwide tour after the album is released. It will be their first tour since the death of legendary saxophonist Clarence Clemons.
With all the performers recruited by the Academy, one is only left to wonder how there will be time for LL Cool J to actually host the awards.
The 54th Grammy Awards will be broadcast live on CBS at 9 p.m. EST on Feb. 12.
