Bruce Springsteen/Billy Joel Team Up for Obama Benefit

Joel & Springsteen will team up for Obama benefit in New York.

It's a case of classic rockers uniting as, according to Reuters.com, legendary E Street Band leader Bruce Springsteen and songwriter Billy Joel are teaming up to show support of presidential candidate Barack Obama.

The two have signed on for their first performance together, headlining a benefit for Obama at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom on October 16.

Other performers aren't being announced yet, but attendees will be shelling out big bucks to see the duo as ticket prices go from $500 to $10,000 apiece.

The benefit also comes as the rockers both face busy schedules.

This has already been a busy year for Springsteen, who, besides just coming off a tour Sunday to promote his 2007 album, Magic, is also scheduled to perform in Tampa, Florida on February 1 for the Super Bowl.

As for Joel, the rocker will reportedly hardly have a chance to vote before shipping off on November 12 for a month-long tour of China, Australia, Japan and New Zealand.
