Bruno to Retire
Bruno has so far brought a good amount of critical and commercial success for Sacha Baron Cohen. Yet, like all good ideas, it's about time for retirement. After he is finished promoting the movie, Cohen is planning on hanging up his hot pants and retiring his Bruno persona.
This latest character was a gay Austrian fashionista, looking for fame, and throughout all promotional interview and public appearances, Cohen had stayed in character. Yet he admits that having to retire another persona is a sad experience because now, since everyone has seen the movie, he can no longer trick people with it.
"It's wonderful that the films are successful, but every new person who sees the movie is one less person I can be Borat or Bruno with again, so finishing a movie means having to say goodbye. Admitting that you're never going to play the character again is like saying goodbye to a loved one. And that's hard," he said.
