Bryce Dallas Howard is new mom again.

The 30-year-old actress and her husband Seth Gabel welcomed a baby girl, Beatrice Jean Howard-Gabel, on Jan. 19, her father, director Ron Howard confirmed via Twitter on Saturday.

"Beatrice Jean Howard-Gabel. Born Jan 19 2012 8lbs 6oz. Bryce & Baby B are spectacular. Daddy Seth & brother Theo are beaming ear to ear :-)" Ron Howard tweeted, according to Us Weekly. "Beatrice's arrival is hugely exciting for our family Thanks for all the kind tweets folks.”

This is Bryce and Seth Gabel’s second child. The Help actress gave birth to her son, Theo, in 2007.

First-time motherhood for Howard, however, wasn’t easy. She opened up about her struggle with postpartum depression in 2010 on Gwyneth Paltrow’s GOOP blog.

“I seemed to be suffering emotional amnesia. I couldn’t genuinely cry, or laugh, or be moved by anything. For the sake of those around me, including my son, I pretended, but when I began showering again in the second week, I let loose in the privacy of the bathroom, water flowing over me as I heaved uncontrollable sobs,” she had recalled.

“Before Theo was born, I had been in good humor about my 80-pound weight gain, but I was now mortified by it,’ she continued. “I felt I was failing at breast-feeding. My house was a mess. I believed I was a terrible dog owner. I was certain I was an awful actress…and worst of all, I definitely felt I was a rotten mother--not a bad one, a rotten one. Because the truth was, every time I looked at my son, I wanted to disappear.”

Howard overcame postpartum depression after support from friends and family, professional help and reading Brooke Shields’ Down Came the Rain.

"Do I wish I had never endured postpartum depression? Absolutely," wrote Howard. "I...feel deep gratitude for those who stood by me, for the lesson that we must never be afraid to ask for help."
