Bullock and James Fine After Drunk Driver Hit Them

Sandra Bullock and her husband's car was hit by a drunk driver on Friday night; thankfully no one was injured in the car accident.

Sandra Bullock and her husband, Jesse James, were in a car accident with a drunk driver Friday night in Gloucester, MA. According to People, Bullock and her husband were being driven home right before 10 p.m., when a Subaru crossed into their lane and hit them head on. Thankfully, no one was injured in the accident. Bullock is in the middle of filming for The Proposal on Cape Ann.

The driver of the Subaru, Lucille P. Gatchell, failed field sobriety tests and her Breathalyzer revealed that she had .20-alcohol level, which is more than twice the state limit. She was taken into custody after the accident and then released on her own recognizance. Apparently, when she heard she had hit Bullock she was amused. An arresting officer said, "She started laughing, she was really giddy."

Even though Bullock and James were fine, they were both shaken up. Gerry Cook, Gloucester Police Lieutenant, said, "They were shaken up, needless to say. But they were fine - he was hugging her. Jess and Sandra were hugging. They said they were fine, they didn't need medical attention. There were quite a few people snapping pictures of them." The two left the scene without getting checked out by medics. Cook told the Herald, "It's unfortunate, but it shows you that no one is immune from drunk drivers, no matter how famous you are."
