Cage to give $2 million donation
Money to be used to rehabilitate children soldiers.
Actor Nicolas Cage announced Thursday he was giving $2 million to help children soldiers.
"I understand that this pledge is not a solution for the problem," Cage, 42, said when he announced the contribution by video and reported by The Associated Press.
The donation will help provide shelter as well as medical and psychological treatment for the soldiers, Larry Cox, executive director of Amnesty International USA told the AP.
"It's my hopeful wish that today's discussions on this tragic subject at the United Nations conference may bring us closer to eradicating the nightmare of child soldiers," Cage said.
The United Nation estimates there are over 300,000 children soldiers worldwide.
