Carey Lands 16th #1 Hit of Her Career

We Belong Together reaches #1 on Billboard charts, knocks Stefani down a notch

Songstress Mariah Carey's latest comeback has placed her back on top, a level she hadn't reached since 2000, and hadn't reached as a solo artist since 1998. Her latest single, "We Belong Together"--from her recent album, "The Emancipation of Mimi"-- landed at number one on Thursday's Billboard charts. "Together" is the 16th number 1 hit of Carey's career. Her arrival at number 1 knocked Gwen Stefani's "Holla Back Girl" down a notch after a four week stint at at the top. Also high on the charts this week are Ciara's "Oh" at number 3 and 50 Cent's "Just a Little Bit" at number 4. Rounding out the top 5 is The Black Eyed Peas' "Don't Phunk with My Heart."
