Carrie Prejean Loses Miss California Crown

Carrie Prejean lost her crown after violating her contract.

Carrie Prejean has officially lost her Miss California crown according to ABC News. The decision to fire the Miss USA runner-up was based on her continually breaking her contract.

"This was a decision based solely on contact violations including Ms. Prejean's unwillingness to make appearances on behalf of the Miss California USA organization," executive director Keith Lewis said in a statement.

He went on to say that it is "abundantly clear that Carrie is unwilling to fulfill her obligations."

Donald Trump, who allowed her to keep her crown last month after semi-nude photos surfaced, said he supports Lewis' decision. Agreeing with Lewis, the pageant owner said that it doesn't look like Prejean is willing to get to work and honor her contract.

Roger Neil, spokesperson for Miss California organization, said Prejean "was disrespectful to her bosses, rude, never civil and only out for her own good," E! Online reported.

There has been no comment from Prejean's reps.

Shanna Moakler, who resigned in protest of the pageant last month, is glad to hear the news, the Los Angeles Times reported.

She reportedly told Us Weekly that her "faith has been restored in the Miss Universe Organization and with [pageant owner] Donald Trump."

"Carrie is a beautiful woman and I wish her well as she pursues her other interests," Trump said.
