Controversial California beauty queen Carrie Prejean got married on Friday night, according to E! Online.
“It was beautiful,” an anonymous witness reported. “They had cocktails on the lawn right after. Everyone seemed really happy.”
Prejean, 23, had been dating new husband Kyle Boller, 29, for a year. The couple got engaged in February. Boller is a reserve quarterback for the Oakland Raiders.
The ceremony was held at the Grand Del Mar Hotel in Prejean’s native San Diego. The building includes a chapel called Cappella Church where the wedding took place. E! Online reported Prejean had six attendants and donned a “gorgeous one-shoulder mermaid-style gown” for her wedding. Boller and his groomsmen opted for black tuxedoes.
Prejean became a darling among conservative Christians and a liberal punching bag during the Miss USA pageant when she admitted her opposition to gay marriage. The infamous pageant question came from celebrity blogger Perez Hilton. She later defended her comments, saying, “It’s not about being politically correct, for me, it’s about being biblically correct.”
