Carrie Underwood Cast in 'Soul Surfer'
Country music star Carrie Underwood has joined the cast of Soul Surfer, reports MTV.
The film is based on the true story of surfing champion Bethany Hamilton, who lost her arm in a shark attack at the age of 13.
Fans of Underwood, who would have loved to see her in a bikini, should note that she will be playing a supporting role as a church youth leader. (Don't you feel guilty, now?)
The role of Bethany will be played by AnnaSophia Robb. The rest of the cast includes Helen Hunt and Dennis Quaid (no doubt as the parents) and Kevin Sorbo (a.k.a., TV's Hercules).
Underwood will also be making an appearance in How I Met Your Mother in March as a pharmaceutical sales rep and, of coures, one of Ted's many love interests. She recently won a Grammy for Best Country Collaboration with Randy Travis and is also engaged to hockey player Mike Fisher.
