Carrie Underwood Launches a New Tour
Ever since winning American Idol back in 2005, Carrie Underwood wasted no time in becoming one of the most popular artists to hit the country music scene. She became the most popular Idol winner since Kelly Clarkson and sold more records than any other Idol contestant before her. Throughout her career, she has won many country music awards as well as multiple Grammy awards. One of the biggest artists in country music today, Underwood just recently launched her new tour expanding 54 cities.
The Ottawa Citizen reviewed Underwood’s second show which was held on March 12 at the Times Union Centre in Albany, NY.
According to the article, the show began 45 minutes late due to a production delay. The crew reached the theatre 2 ½ hours late and as a result, the audience was not permitted to enter the Centre until the set was completely in place.
The opening acts, Sons of Sylvia and Craig Morgan, both delivered solid performances that got the audience on their feet.
When Underwood appeared soon after, the critic stated that “it seemed all the energy had left the room with Morgan’s departure.”
However, once the star performed “Temporary Home,” the performance took a turn for the better. It wasn’t long before Underwood connected with her audience and “delivered a high-octane performance that showcased her high octave-spanning voice.”
