Carrie Underwood won’t be joining the growing list of expectant stars anytime soon.

The powerhouse country singer, who got married to hockey player Mike Fisher in July of 2010, spoke backstage at the American Country Awards where she took home a trio of awards. She was again asked the ever-present question about when she'll have kids, and told reporters that due to the couple's busy schedules, she isn't planning on expanding her family yet.

"I'm still a newlywed and with next year being so busy and I think 2013 is probably going to end up being pretty busy as well and my husband's hockey schedule is absolutely insane,” she told OK! Magazine, adding that having a baby would be a “bad idea” because they’re not fully ready to be parents.

"I really think it would be a bad idea. 'Sorry honey, you're not going to see the kids for a couple months because we're all going on tour'...I just don't think that would be really fair,” she explained. “We're not ready. We're just, you know, we're enjoying each other and spending time with each other and just having fun and being silly."

Although no kids yet, Underwood and Fisher have two dogs together that are already a handful.

“They keep us quite busy and quite entertained,” she said.
