Carrie Underwood To Sing The National Anthem at Super Bowl
At a pre-Super Bowl conference on Thursday, Carrie Underwood and Queen Latifah talked about the effect of music and its cultural significance. They sang a rendition of the very popular American Idol song “Pants On The Ground.”
“As a songwriter I know we all aspire to write something that is catchy and has a message. And I think the youth of America can learn a lot from ‘Pants On The Ground.’ And they can pull their paints up…because it causes all kinds of back problems. I’ve seen the studies,” Underwood joked.
Underwood will sing the national anthem before the Super Bowl on Sunday between the Colts and the Saints. Latifah will be singing “America the Beautiful.”
During the conference, Underwood admitted that she was a little nervous about performing during America’s biggest sports broadcast.
“My biggest fear is the words, of course you know the words. But if you’re going to mess up, that’d be the time, right?” Underwood said.
