Cast Members Share a Moment at "Twilight"
Stars of the much anticipated movie, Twilight, Robert Pattinson, Nikki Reed and Kellan Lutz, apparently had no idea what they were getting themselves into while filming the destined to be pop culture phenomena, reports LATimes.com.
The popularity of the Twilight series, created by Stephenie Meyer, that centers on the romance between 17-year-old Bella Swan and a forever young vampire named Edward, is apparently hard to envision, even when you are now part of it.
During their interview, Pattinson, 22, who plays Edward, the heart-stopping love interest of young Bella, even admitted he wasn't one to bask in the limelight, stating, "I can't watch myself on screen."
You would think he would be beyond all that by now after having the role of Cedric Diggory in the "Harry Potter" films, but no.
He told the L.A. Times, "When my parents say, 'Oh, did you see this photo?' I immediately start going, 'Don't tell me about photos!' I haven't watched anything since the premiere of 'Harry Potter.' And that's because I couldn't find a way out."
"I think it was toward the end of shooting when it really dawned on me," said Reed, who plays a confident, yet human-friendly vampire named Rosalie.
And speaking of "Potter," Reed 20, told LATimes.com that it was comparisons to the hysteria surrounding "Harry Potter" that really let her know just how big the movie was going to be.
"There were fans that were finding out where the locations were, and that's when it really hit me. People saying, 'Oh, it's going to be the next "Harry Potter"!' That's a big mountain in front of you. There's a lot of hype around this."
Lutz, 23, who plays Cullen sibling Emmett, told LATimes.com that during the hard days, it helped that the cast became friends while filming in the remote Pacific Northwest.
"When we did have those hard days," added Lutz, 23, "we would go back to Rob's room. He had a couple of guitars in there and a lot of great music. It was really fun being able to relax and have the cast come together, having that time just to bond and not really be actors but friends."
