CBS files lawsuit against Stern

Howard Stern got a belated parting gift from his former employer CBS Radio: a $218 million lawsuit. Stern, the self-proclaimed "king of all media" left CBS Radio in January to join Sirius Satellite Radio.

The 43 page lawsuit, filed Tuesday in New York's Supreme Court says Stern used CBS airtime to promote his departure to Sirius, along with a host of other wrongdoings including fraud, breech of contract and unfair competition and interference with Stern's CBS contract. The complaint also seeks damages from Sirius and Stern's agent, Don Buchwald.

A few hours before the lawsuit was filed, Stern held a press conference saying he told CBS of his agreement with Sirius and also accused Leslie Moonves, CBS chief executive, of having a "personal vendetta."
