It's not a first, but it is awfully surprising: Hulk Hogan (a.k.a. Terry Bollea) has created a reality show based on another reality show. The only catch is, this one has celebrity talent!
Shockingly identical to WWE's now-defunct Tough Enough series, Hogan's own Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling will apparently be trained to wrestle, cut promos, and try to win an as-of-yet unnamed prize. They will be coached in two teams, one fronted by Brian Knobbs (half of the infamous tag-team The Nasty Boys), the other by Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake ('80s WWE wunderkind).
Both coaches will be right at home with the retro-packed cast Hogan has announced. Fifteen-minutes-of-famers Danny Bonaduce, Dustin Diamond, Todd Bridges, and Dennis Rodman have all been confirmed. Inexplicably, seasoned boxer Eric "Butterbean" Esch is also a member of the roster. The judging panel will be rounded out by managers Jimmy Hart, Eric Bischoff, and Hogan himself.
Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling premieres this fall on CMT.
